Confirmations, reminders and cancellations, sent from your own email address and your own text number.
Email, from your own mailbox
Not connected
Clients get emails from your own address, so replies come straight back to you. Use a shared mailbox like bookings@ or hello@ rather than someone's personal one.
Who hosts your email?
Username: your full email address.
Password: the mailbox's password. If the account uses two-step sign-in, create an app password instead (My Account → Security info → Add method → App password).
Your IT admin may need to switch on "Authenticated SMTP" for this mailbox: Microsoft 365 admin centre → Users → the mailbox → Mail → Manage email apps.
Text messages, from your own Twilio account
Not connected (optional)
Texts cut no-shows the most. They're sent through your own Twilio account, which charges you per text (a few pence for a UK text), so there's nothing extra from Varisett.
Create an account at twilio.com and add some credit. (Trial accounts can only text numbers you've verified.)
Get a sender: buy a UK mobile number (Phone Numbers → Buy a number), or use a sender name of up to 11 letters, like your business name (clients can't reply to a name).
On the Twilio Console home page, copy your Account SID and Auth Token.
Paste them below and send yourself a test.
What clients get
Sent by whichever of email and text are switched on. Invoices can be emailed from each invoice's page.
